Notes From The Playpen

Holy moly guys, I'm ONE! I had an awesome birthday party last weekend. Most of my family and friends were there. They totally spoiled me silly with presents. Though I love all my new toys and clothes, I love most the time I spent with everybody. My actual birthday was the middle of the week. Mommy and Daddy got me a cake, but it was super duper sweet and I was kind of cranky that night, so I didn't really eat it. I think I've got a couple more teeth on the way, but they just refuse to break through.

I started at my new daycare with Ms. Shiri yesterday. It was a pretty good day, but I'm used to taking a late afternoon nap, which I missed because Daddy had to work on a paper uninterrupted so Mommy came to get me at 5:45. I was so glad to get home and get all snuggled up with Mommy and Daddy. I also had my first sandwich yesterday! It was turkey and I ate half of it. Today's lunch is fish sticks. Mommy isn't sure how I'll like those, but I'm up for trying. Well, back to playing I go!

Hi everyone! It's been awhile since I've written, but I've been busy. I have four teeth, most likely 2 molars trying to come in, and today I stood on my own!

Sad news alert: No more playtime at Ms. Shiri's house. She had to go back to working in a center. I miss her and my Halie a ton, but I will see them both soon after I start at the new center after my birthday.

Holy moly! It's almost my birthday! My very first ever birthday! I'm awfully excited. I hope all of my friends can make it. I get to see Tyler almost every day for now, but I haven't seen Cam in weeks and like I said before, I really miss Halie.

Tyler's mommy, Ms. Sarah, is watching me while Mommy and Daddy work. We have a great time playing the Laugh 'N Learn Piano and terrorizing Tyler's doggie, Simon. It's a ton of fun, but I kinda wish Mommy and Daddy didn't have to go to work. Mommy says that they work so they can buy me toys, but if I could say more words, I would tell her I don't need more toys and I just want to play and snuggle.

Hi Friends. Guess what? I have three teeth now! I think my fourth is on its way along with some molars that are trying to work their way down. I also seem to be going through a growth spurt. Man, it's hard being a baby! All this growing and changing....just when I think I have it all figured out, bam! my mouth hurts, I get cranky and I don't feel like eating solids.

Mommy says it will pass. I believe her, but I hope it passes soon! I'm all kinds of uncomfy in different ways throughout the day. Most of the time though, I'm pretty happy. Mommy and Daddy sometimes take toys (editor's note: our car keys) away from me and then I get upset. They have started ignoring me though, so I guess throwing myself on the floor screaming, whining and kicking my legs doesn't work anymore. They also won't let me roll to my tummy while having my diaper changed. Why must they make me stop playing??? I get all three of my names yelled at me and they put their mad faces on. I don't like it, so I scolded Mommy last week for it. I shook my finger right at her! I thought that would solve things, but it hasn't. She says this is all part of learning and growing up too. Can't I just stay a baby and have her cater to my every need?

This weekend was AWESOME!

First Mommy, Daddy and I hung out at home. Then we went to Uncle Mike's house. I had so much fun! Evan kept some of his old toys for me (the rest he sold at his yard sale) and he got those out for me to play with. There were these cool cars that hooked together like a train and an awesome helicopter with propeller than I could spin. I played in Evan's playroom and he played with me some, and then he played around me. I got sleepy so I took a nap, but then when I woke up we all ate dinner and then I got down on the kitchen floor to crawl and Evan crawled with me. He also played peek-a-boo with me. Then we all sat in the living room and everyone started shouting out movies at the magic box (editor's note: We were playing the game Scene It? Disney version that is on a DVD)

Sunday was nice. I played with Mommy in the morning before she went to church, then played with daddy some and took my nap. After Mommy got home and we had lunch, I took my first trip ever to a place called IKEA! I was very well behaved while Mommy pushed me in the stroller. Daddy had the cart and they got some more toy bins for me. And then, because I was so good and they love me and spoil me, I got a new toy! Ok, a few new toys, but this one is my favorite. I played with it and then rode all around the store with it next to me. I also got a plush soccer ball and two smaller plush balls. All in all it was a wonderful weekend!

*yawn* Hi everybody! I've been so tired lately. I sleep and sleep all through the night, take my standard two naps and I'm still sleepy! Mommy says I must be growing. She also said my feet looked longer when I got up yesterday morning. My 9 month check-up is next week. I don't know if I've grown taller, but I'm definitely stronger. I can sit up all by myself and I can almost pull up to stand. Now, if I could just get this balance thing down, I could walk. Or run! 

I'm heading down to my Uncle Mike's house tomorrow. Uncle Mike is funny. Aunt Stephanie is nice and she talks very sweetly to me. My cousin, Evan, is awesome, but he doesn't like to play with me too much. Mommy says it's just because we like to play different things, and that once I'm bigger and stronger and can play sports, we'll be inseperable. I sure hope so!

Hi All! It's me, Griffin. Mommy asked me if I could blog and give her readers my perspective of things. I said "Sure!" 'cause she's my Mommy and I love her.

So, as Mommy told you already, I'm crawling. It's so nice to be able to get to the toys I want, but Mommy and Daddy often block me from getting other things. I just want to push the buttons on Daddy's computer. Is that so wrong? Anyway, I'm working on sitting up by myself and crawling on my knees. I've got the army crawl down pat, but the knees thing...well, that's different. When I try, I end up on my belly! What's up with that???? (Note: Griffin pushes off with both knees and ends up either lurching forward and landing on his belly, or his legs go out from under him with no forward motion and he ends up on his belly.)

I'm really enjoying Ms. Shiri's house. That's where I go when Mommy and Daddy go to work. I like staying home with them, but they say that they have to work so they can buy me toys. I'm ok with that. So Ms. Shiri's house is a blast! Almost all of my friends are there - Cameryn, Noah and KJ. Tyler is home with his mommy now, but he lives across the street. We set up a tin can phone line between our houses so we can talk at night, but shhhhh! don't tell our mommies! Anyway, Ms. Shiri's kids are there too. Trent is funny and likes to play blocks with me and talk about Pokemon all day long. I don't know what Pokemon is, but I just let him talk. Halie is....well, Halie is my wife! She gave me a big kiss on my head a couple weeks ago and said we were married now. I'm cool with it because she's so pretty and sweet. She loves to give me hugs and kisses and today she helped Mommy feed me my bottle. She always gives me a morning kiss and another before naptime. It helps me have sweet dreams.
