...my ovaries are stubborn SOBs. Ah well. Had the blood test this morning to check for hCG and progesterone. No hCG present (gee what a shocker) and very little progesterone, so I officially did not ovulate. That's ok though. I'm so far past done with this cycle. I'll be picking up my provera on the way home and with any luck I'll get to start treatment by mid February at the latest. Hopefully sooner though - I'd really rather not have the same due date as last time. That cycle started on the 12th last year. The latest date for this one would be about the 18th.
(side note: just took a potty break and still no sign of her)
Now....let's just hope that Femara works for me!

Day 63...
...no AF, no BFP. Cramps and sore boobs? Check. PMS irritation? Check. How long has this been going on? Weeks. Stupd AF! Where are you? Every time I want you to show up, you are no where to be found. Maybe you need one of these:
To find your way to my:
I gave up and called the RE. I'll be going in tomorrow for bloodwork and possibly an ultrasound. Then on to treatment. FINALLY! More updates to come...

Perhaps I Jumped The Gun....
...when I said yesterday that un-Western-medicated cycles don't work. Now don't get too excited here. I'm not pregnant. How am I so sure? I broke down and peed on a stupid stick. BFN. No surprise, no tears, no disappointment. In fact, I'm quite happy that it was negative. I haven't been on progesterone and my temps are nowhere near high enough to indicate progesterone production adequate to support a pregnancy. Anyway, the Eastern philosophy (diet and acupressure) I've been following during this cycle may not have gotten me pregnant, but I can't help but think it has helped my PCOS as well as pregnancy and weight loss.
When I first went to the RE, she ordered a two hour glucose tolerance test. I have now completed 3 of these tests in a little over a year. There are two blood draws with this test. First there is a fasting draw. Normal ranges for this are under 100. My first was 75, second was 71 and this last time 86. Not great that it's rising, but it's still within "normal."
Anyone who has made it through the 2nd trimester of pregnancy has most likely done the two hour GTT and will be familiar with the super sweet drink you must chug down in 5 minutes right after the first draw. Then you wait two hours and have blood drawn again. Normal for this draw is under 140. Anything 200 and above is diabetes with ranges between being pre-diabetes. My results were 199 (eek!), 145 (about 16 weeks pregnant) and this time...
127!
Woohoo!!! I'm no longer considered prediabetic! While that is good news, my insulin level was about two and a half times what it should be so I'm back on Metformin. Over the next month I'll be working my way up to 2000mg per day. I also decided that it was high time I made an appointment with an endocronologist. There is one whose name keeps coming up as highly recommended so I called to set up a consult and had to leave a message. I've gotten the sugar under control, now I need to figure out how to get the insulin under control. While I wait for my call to be returned and my appointment to be set up, does anyone out there in Blogland have suggestions for me?

Bring On The Drugs
I thought I was going to ovulate this cycle. At very least I thought it would be a shorter cycle. Remember a few posts ago? I posted a couple charts. Things looked so promising. So why am I sitting here begging for drugs? You don't need a picture of my chart to tell you that an un-Western-medicated cycle is not working for me. I'm on cycle day 51. 'Nuff said.
So c'mon AF! Let's get this show on the road! Let's get this party started! Let's blow this popsicle stand! I'm ready, willing and able to try this whole pregnant thing again. I'm also nervous, terrified and totally pissed that I have to try this again. I can't change it though, so I'm doing my very best to leave those feelings with the suck that was 2009.
Now, I know it's a little late for a resolution, but I need to update the one I made in 2009:
I will get and stay pregnant in 2010, which will lead to bringing home a healthy baby in 2010 or 2011.

Goals Update
In case anyone cares about these....
Weight Loss: Up 3 lbs. post holiday. All in all, that's not bad considering what previous years have packed on me.
Reading: See the list in the blog footer.
Movies: On track with watching one per week. I'm going to count one full disc from Netflix as a "movie." The point of watching one movie per week is to take time out to decompress. Watching "Big Love" will accomplish this the same way "Angels and Demons" did before Christmas and "Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day" did last week. I recommend watching both if you haven't.
Series 7: *looks down shamefully* Haven't cracked that book open in months.
Savings for TTC: No progress, but no borrowing from the funds either. I call it a sucess considering the big grad school tuition bill we just had to pay.
Cleaning Out Former ManCave: Surprisingly we were able to pack more in. This was before adding a table and various other items to make way for the Christmas tree. Please note, this shot is the cleaner half of the room. Do you see why I'm avoiding this one???
Letter Writing: LOVE writing and receiving letters. It's so fun! I just got another one in the mail yesterday. I wrote back immediately and can't wait to open the mailbox to find another!
All in all, the goals are going well. Looks like I'll definitely meet the reading goal. The others? Only time will tell...
Don't forget to delurk!!!

LURKER!!!!
So apparently it's International Blog Delurking Week. Thanks to Lovely Lady 1 and Lovely Lady 2 for pointing this out! I didn't participate last year because...well...if I'm honest with myself, and with you all, I was too damn lazy to post about it.
I'd say I know most if not all of you dear readers, but in the off chance people other than friends I've pointed here actually read my ramblings, please delurk yourselves!
Oh, and have a very happy 2010. I hope it brings you everything your heart truly desires!
